Cooperation between the WoTLK Gold factions has been a theme that's popped up many times throughout the decades and has ranged from Alliance chief Varian Wrynn's general battle cry "for Azeroth" in the trailer video for the Legion expansion, to Horde veterans Varok Saurfang pledging that he will "break the vicious cycle" of conflict between both sides at the close the Battle for Azeroth. With that in mind it's time that both factions come together in a more meaningful way outside of simply standing close to one another in cutscenes.

Another reason that players are excited to play cross-faction is the advantages it offers. Friends will be able to play the same thing in an instance, regardless of faction or server, for example. It seems Alliance players in particular are looking forward to the chance to form groups with their Horde friends, as it will make it easier to find groups to participate in endgame activities like raids and Mythic+ Dungeons. Having a larger active playerbase which is pooled rather than divided in half, is essential to the game's overall health, regardless of whether one is taking part on Horde and Alliance. There is a greater willingness among players to set aside their differences and join forces and not just to play Azeroth but for the good of the game itself.

Many members are planning even more collaboration between the two factions. While cross-faction support won't initially be a part of cross-faction guilds, or the ability to join forces with members of an opposing faction in an open world, the possibilities are something more than a few players are seem interested in. The question is whether any of these possibilities will become a reality remains to be known, but it's apparent that the blurring of the distinctions between Horde and Alliance is only getting started, and players should be down for whatever comes next.

Cross-faction play isn't the only WoW update to be announced this week. In another update that's been well received by the community that plays the game, Blizzard is now cracking down on organised "boosting communities" advertising services in games. Activision Blizzard is also currently getting ready to be acquired by Microsoft in an acquisition worth $69 billion buy WoTLK Gold, that has many wondering whether WoW could eventually become available for Xbox consoles.
