Although the launch of Madden 23 is still a month away, we figured it would be fun to take a look at how each player in the Madden 23 coins Carolina Panthers' defense will be judged.

Note: Keep in mind that the overall rating predictions are what I believe Madden will give players, but not how I would rate them.

De Brian Burns - 90

Burns is quickly growing into one of the best passing defenders in the NFL. Everyone seems to be concerned about how effective he will be in 2022 , even without Haason Reddick lined up opposite of Burns. I think he'll do perfectly. He had nine sacks that year prior to when Reddick was introduced and also included Stephen Weatherly as the other start at the rush end.

DT Derrick Brown - 79

Derrick Brown has been good however, not the best. I'm sure the Panthers would love for him to take a big advancement this year and create more impact in the game, rather than being a player who shows up in short bursts.

The DT Matt Ioannidis - 80

Panthers supporters will be awed by this player. Hard-nosed, tough football player that just finds his way to the backfield consistently. If he's able to stay in good shape, he'll be one of the top interior rushers throughout the game. The Panthers had trouble generating pressure from that spot over the last three years.

DE Yetur Gross-Matos - 74

It's not a surprise that it's an important calendar year in YGM. He has to prove that the ability to not only create plays, but remain on the field in order to make them. He's been injured throughout the first two seasons of his playing career, but coaches remain extremely positive about him.

LB Shaq Thompson - 86

Prior to his foot injury in the last season, Thompson was on pace to break records in a single season of tackles and TFLs QB hits, sacks you have it all. Thompson had a sharp edge last year after having an up and down 2020 campaign. The voice of the public listens to.

LB Damien Wilson -75

The Panthers let Jermaine Carter walk in free agency and the team brought in Damien Wilson to fill his role. I'm not certain that Wilson will be much of an upgrade from Carter but he has seven years of professional experience and 68 starts with the team as a matter of fact.

LB Frankie Luvu - 71

He can cause havoc when he's on the field. He'll probably split times with Cory Littleton but as the season goes on, Luvu will make more plays and, as a result is likely to get the majority of the snaps.

CB Donte Jackson - 85

Donte had his greatest season in a contract year and was rewarded with a three-year, $35 million contract. Some think it's too rich but I think it's about the right figure. He was great in passing coverage, but also had his best season in running support.

CB Jaycee Horn CB Jaycee Horn

We got to see a small glimpse of Horn in 2021 before Horn went out for the year with an injury to his foot. In those 2.5 games Horn was a rock-solid player. Could he be a star in the second year? It will be interesting to see.

S Jeremy Chinn - 83

Chinn has been quite entertaining watching over the past two seasons, but I think there's a different device he could throw into. While focusing on safety, working together with Steve Wilks, and having Xavier Woods back there with Chinn makes for a great recipe for a big 2022.

S Xavier Woods - 78

The Panthers desperately needed a running mate in the back end of Chinn and were able to land a great veteran in Xavier madden 23 coins buy  Woods. His ability to communicate is among many reasons why the Panthers were enthralled by the player in free agency. They require a voice to make a statement in the secondary.
