Several Uvalde High School seniors donated between 12 and 14 inches of their own hair to a non-profit organization that makes wigs for children in need, according to the school, in order to get a head start on the holiday season of giving.

Approximately a year after the outbreak of COVID-19 was discovered, Sandoval's hair began to grow longer. The fact that the barbershops were closed initially piqued his interest, but he quickly realized that he had the ability to turn an otherwise negative situation into a positive one by simply growing his hair.

Ultimately, I decided to simply let my hair grow out for the longest amount of time possible before donating it in the hopes that it would be of assistance to someone in desperate need of it.
