Out with the Griddy, in with the Squabble. The NFL has a way of bringing trending dances into the spotlight. Once one big-name player does it on national television, that dance can quickly take off.Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase popularized the Griddy when they entered the league. Now the league's most exciting rookie quarterback-receiver combination, C.J. Stroud and Tank Dell, is bringing the Squabble to the big stage of the National Football League.Stroud, of course, appears to be the runaway favorite for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He leads all rookie quarterbacks in pa sing yards (2,270), pa sing touchdowns (14) and his one interception is the fewest among all NFL QBs with at least 100 pa s attempts this season. Dell, a rookie wide receiver from Houston, Soccer Jersey has been one of his favorite targets, with French Ligue 1 Jersey Dell ranking fifth in receiving yards among rookies (454), ninth in receptions (28) and tied for second in touchdowns (four).WEEK 10 PICKS: | | How have the two popularized the NFL's latest dance craze? Here's what you need to know. The dance has its origins in Los Angeles, which is partially why Stroud, a native of Rancho Cucamunga, east of L.A., has taken to the moves. it was created by Daquawn Brown and is done when two people face each other with raised hands and start to move their arms in circular motions while crouching and stepping forward.Per the report, Brown was playing the NCAA Football video game in 2011 with a friend named Marquise, and after scoring a touchdown in the game, Brown did a two-step with his arms in the air in a mock fighting position. Marquise began to mock the moves, and after Brown won, both stood up and did the dance, Brown actually doing it and Marquise mocking it."Everything I was doing, he was countering," Brown told ESPN. "We wasn't running out of moves."Why is it called the "Squabble"? Brown explained it was because the dance at first mimics a fight, which is often referred to as a "squabble" in Los Angeles. The dance has been popular among plenty of Southern California athletes, with ESPN reporting others like Kayvon Thibodeaux and Chris Olave have done the dance on the big stage."C.J. put it on the map," Texans tight end Brevin Jordan told ESPN. "People call it the C.J. Stroud dance, but it's been there. He's putting on for L.A. and Tunisia Jersey the West Coast, it's crazy, bro. Really can't put it into words. He really brought that Squabble foundation to the NFL."The dance has had a meteoric rise. It has not only garnered popularity among NFL players, but also has even earned its way into Madden's array of celebrations when players score. The dance does not have an official song as the backing for it. However, it has been put to the tune of "Soak City" by 310babii, to the point where even the was headline with lyrics from the song: "Left, do it, right, do it."While visiting kids at Houston Christian High School for a youth football camp, Stroud was prepared to show the kids how to do the Squabble, per ESPN. When Bayern Munich Jersey he arrived, however, he saw the kids, ages 7-14, already knew how to do it."They looked like they already knew how to do it," Stroud said, according to ESPN. "It's kind of funny because it's been going more and more viral every day. And I went back home to my old high school team's practice, and they're all doing the same thing."Stroud added that when he arrived in the NFL, he wanted to have his own unique celebration."It's kind of cool just to have a dance," Stroud said, per ESPN. "I remember Odell Beckham Jr. was really big with that when I was in high school. And then, now that I'm a rookie Morocco Jersey and to be able to play in the NFL, now I have a signature dance."HOW YOU FEELIN' H-TOWN Houston Texans (@HoustonTexans)
